Looking for a place to have a romantic dinner? Craving a local craft beer? Want some fresh oysters and the catch of the day? Checkout our recommendations below!

  1. Timpano Hyde Park Village

Modern Italian restaurant with a rustic quality and an upbeat atmosphere

Recommendations – The Bucatini al Pesto served tableside, the Veal Chop Parmesan with family red sauce, and the Crispy Zucchini & Eggplant for an appetizer!

  2. Ulele Riverwalk

A Tampa Riverwalk highlight with a vibrant fusion of ingredients, all locally sourced

Recommendations – Fried Gator Tail bites, Barry’s Tomahawk Pork Chop 14oz. (a must), the Native Chili (think wild board, alligator, etc.), and the “Fuego” Street Corn. Staying for dessert? Try the Pineapple Upside-Down Bread Pudding with a side of the Ugandan Vanilla Bean
  1. Malio’s Steakhouse Downtown

A classic, luxury steakhouse with a wide variety of USDA prime cuts, freshly caught seafood, and a cellar full of aged wines served by the bottle and by the glass

Recommendations – Oysters on the Half Shell, the 16oz USDA Prime New York Strip (medium-rare of course), the Chilean Sea Bass, and Potatoes Malio on the side (order two, seriously).

  2. Trattoria Pasquale Belmar Shore

Authentic, traditional Italian with a reasonably priced menu in the area in a cozy setting

Recommendations – Bruschetta all Nando, Spaghetti al Pomodoro e Basilico (best Spaghetti in Tampa), and the Veal Parmigiana (only place you can get Veal Parmigiana for under $30). Vegetarian? Try the Cavolfiore for an appetizer (whole head of fried cauliflower) and the Eggplant Parmigiana for your entrée!

  3. Oystercatcher’s Bayport

Oystercatcher’s is overlooking the bay with an upscale, tropical resort vibe and the freshest seafood

Recommendations – Premium Market Oysters (can’t eat at Oystercatchers and not get Oysters!), Snapper in Guazzetto, the Guajillo Pepper Crusted Tuna, and a side of Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts (don’t skip this, but don’t accidentally eat a pepper).

  4. Rock Brother’s Brewing Ybor City

Rock Brother’s unites craft beer, great music, and a wide selection of whiskeys to create an eclectic environment in a Nashville-style bar that NEVER gets too crowded

Recommendations – The Southside (a vodka-based drink mixed with lemon liquor, great for cooling down on summer days!), their Statesman Manhattan (Statesman Bourbon, dark chocolate bitters), and whatever the bartenders recommend (they know their stuff)!

  5. Coppertail Brewing Ybor City

Coppertail is a hip, two-story brewery on the outskirts of Ybor City with a huge selection of craft beers and a full menu

Recommendations – Free Dive is their Signature IPA and the Florida Special is their house lager. Hungry? Start with the Pretzel (comes with the best pimento beer cheese), followed by the Smash Burger (short rib brisket patties) or the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich!

  6. On Swann Hyde Park Village

On Swann is a contemporary restaurant mastering American Cuisine with a seasonal menu and local flair. On top of the great food, On Swann has arguably the best bar in Hyde Park village with an awesome menu for exploring a variety of cocktails! Also, a great spot for brunch!

Recommendations – The Charcuterie Board (several options), Hot Chicken tenders, the Coq Au Vin or Ribeye for an entrée (note, they change their menu a lot!), and their Walnut Old Fashioned!

  7. Hattricks Tavern Downtown

It’s as gameday of an atmosphere as possible with screens lining the walls, collegiate décor, buckets of beers on every table, and the best damn wings on this side of Florida.

Recommendations – The wings, duh, but definitely Dave’s Way (garlic parmesan then re-tossed in their buffalo sauce). Also get an order of the fries, and a bucket of beers for $17!

  8. Bulla Gastrobar Hyde Park North

Bulla Gastrobar is a Spanish tapa-style restaurant just near Hyde Park Village. It’s in a younger area with a lot of nightlife and a very chic interior design

Recommendations – Get a cheese board with cured meats to start, and build your own from a large selection. Try the patatas bravas, the chorizo stuffed dates, and the fried artichokes. Looking for something bigger? Try the seafood paella! And, of course, get the pitcher of sangria!
